Ghee is used in Indian kitchen superfood It is believed. It also has many benefits mentioned in Ayurveda – it improves digestion, increases immunity and gives energy to the body. But do you know that ghee is not beneficial for everyone? For some people, excessive consumption can prove harmful.

Why is ghee beneficial?

Ghee contains healthy fats, vitamins A, D, E and K, which are essential for the body. It nourishes the body from within and is also considered good for the skin and brain.


Who should avoid ghee?

1. People with high cholesterol

Ghee is high in saturated fat, which can increase bad cholesterol (LDL). Such people should consume it only in limited quantities.


2. Heart disease patients

Eating too much ghee can be risky for heart patients, as it can increase the risk of blockage and heart attack.


3. People suffering from obesity

Ghee is high in calories. Excessive consumption can lead to weight gain and fat accumulation.


4. People with liver problems

In case of fatty liver or other liver problems, consuming excess fat can make the condition worse.


5. People with digestive problems

Some people may experience indigestion, gas or heaviness in the stomach after eating too much ghee.


How much ghee is safe?

  • For a normal person, 1–2 teaspoons of ghee daily is sufficient.
  • Consuming excessive amounts can cause harm instead of benefit.

How to consume properly?

  • Include ghee in the diet only in balanced quantity.
  • Have it with dal, roti or vegetable
  • Maintain exercise and active lifestyle
