Capturing that perfect shot is no easy feat.

From the angle to the lighting, everything must come together just right to create that standout image. Both seasoned professionals and keen amateurs can dedicate hours chasing it.

However, on rare occasions - and we mean exceptionally rare - that ideal photograph happens on the very first click. For Gavin Best, he managed exactly that without even realising what he'd achieved.

  • What happens to your body when it is cremated - and how long it takes to burn
  • Mark Zuckerberg's $270m Hawaii doomsday bunker and underground shelter

The 43-year-old was celebrating New Year's Eve with friends in Belfast several years back when he stopped to take a snap.

He recalled: "When I looked at the photos afterwards on my mobile I didn't spot anything; it was only a few days later when I was looking through the photos on my laptop that I noticed something over there, so I zoomed in."

Gavin had managed to catch someone mid-jump, presumably striking a pose for another camera.

He said: "I thought it was a hell of a coincidence that I'd happened to capture that exact moment - I hadn't even realised there was anyone over there when I took the picture.

"By pure chance the timing was perfect and it created a funny shot. It would be pretty mad if you managed to find them."

Since sharing the photograph on Twitter, it's racked up more than 1,200 likes. He added: "I posted the photo on Twitter because I thought it was a bit special and worth sharing."
