On March 20, residents and family members of a young man named Bittu gathered in Patna to demand justice following his tragic death, which they claim resulted from a brutal attack by a group of youths in the Danapur police jurisdiction.

The victim's mother expressed her anguish, stating, "We are pleading for justice. We want at least two arrests made by the police for the heinous act committed against my child. We will not leave until this happens. What crime did my son commit to deserve such a savage beating?"

She further alleged that Bittu was assaulted by a group of 20 to 25 individuals who attacked him from behind. "The local MP, Ram Kripal Yadav, should be informed. We demand justice for my son," she insisted.

Authorities have since recovered bricks and iron rods from the location of the incident.

SHO Prashant Kumar Bhardwaj confirmed the attack, stating, "We received reports of a youth being assaulted. Upon our arrival, we found Bittu Kumar had been severely beaten by some miscreants. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Forensic teams are on-site, and we are interviewing family members to ascertain the motive behind the attack. We are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area."

During the protest, Bittu's mother emphasized, "There is no doubt about the attackers' identities; the CCTV footage will reveal them. Authorities are urging us to leave, but why should we? I have nurtured my son for 25 years. Shouldn't I have the right to seek justice?"

She added, "My younger daughter was set to marry in April, and we had already made all the necessary arrangements. The assailants even stole money from my son and struck him on the head with a gun butt."

Bittu's sister remarked, "The footage was recorded last night, yet no arrests have been made so far."

Reinforcing the call for justice, Bittu's maternal grandmother stated, "I raised my grandson as if he were my own son."

The mother also claimed that the authorities had dispatched female police officers to disperse the protesters.
