A fantastic opportunity has emerged for young individuals aspiring to build a career in the coal sector. South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has announced a major recruitment drive for Apprentice positions for the year 2026. Through this campaign, a total of 1,600 vacancies will be filled, offering opportunities to both engineering graduates and diploma holders.

Interested candidates can apply online until March 31, 2026, and gain valuable work experience at a prestigious Public Sector Undertaking (PSU).

Separate Positions for Graduates and Diploma Holders
This recruitment drive is categorized into two distinct groups. The first category is for Graduate Apprentices, allowing degree holders in engineering disciplines—such as Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil—to apply. The second category is for Technician Apprentices, offering opportunities to candidates holding an engineering diploma. Among the total vacancies, the largest share has been allocated to students of Mining Engineering.

What are the Qualifications?
To apply, candidates must possess a B.E./B.A tech degree or a diploma in the relevant trade. Additionally, candidates must be registered on the NATS portal. Only those candidates who completed their studies in the years 2023, 2024, or 2025 are eligible to apply. Individuals who have previously undergone an apprenticeship or who possess more than one year of work experience are not eligible to apply.

Stipend and Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend during their training period. Graduate Apprentices will receive approximately ₹9,000 per month, while Diploma holders will receive ₹8,000 per month. These amounts have been determined in accordance with the regulations of the Government of India.

Selection Without Examination
This recruitment process does not involve any written examination. Candidates will be selected based on a merit list derived from the marks obtained in their educational qualifications. In the event of a tie in marks between two candidates, priority will be given to the older candidate.

How to Apply
Candidates must first register on the NATS portal. Next, visit the official SECL website and fill out the application form. Carefully enter all the necessary details in the form and upload the required documents. Finally, submit the form and keep a printout of it safe for future reference.
