A couple in their later years have married at a nursing home in Penang, Malaysia, after developing a relationship over just three months.
Hu Ruirong, 91, and Wu Caixing, 67, tied the knot on Tuesday at the Silver Jubilee Home for the Aged, surrounded by family members, friends and fellow residents, China Press reported.
Hu said she was the one who proposed the idea of marriage.

“I wanted to get married and live with him, so we got married,” Hu said, adding that she did not feel nervous and that she felt happy.
According to MothershipHu had never married. When she was younger, she set aside her personal life and spent most of her time caring for her elderly parent. She moved into the nursing home about seven years ago as her health declined.
The couple met in late 2025 when Wu moved into the same facility. They first sat near each other in the dining room then began talking and grew close.
“Our sweet moments on dates consist of holding hands and walking together outside the nursing home or shopping,” Hu said.
The nursing home said management interviewed the couple separately before approving the wedding to ensure the decision was voluntary. Wu, who has limited mobility, said he wanted a long-term commitment with Hu.
The home then organized the wedding with support from charitable businesses, community groups and volunteers. The best man and bridesmaid, both in their 70s, were also a couple who met at the facility.
Following the ceremony, Hu and Wu began sharing a room at the nursing home.
