In view of the festival of Eid, the police administration in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is on full alert mode. After the Friday prayers were completed peacefully, now the entire focus of the police is on maintaining law and order on Eid. To ensure peace and harmony in the city, a major campaign has been launched, especially against bike stunts and speeding.

Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Bablu Kumar gave detailed information about the security preparations. He said that for some time now there were reports of youth doing bike stunts, due to which there is a risk of accidents. In view of this, the police have taken strict steps.

Special teams deployed in sensitive areas

Police have identified all the sensitive spots (hotspots) in the city, where special teams have been deployed. Intensive checking is being done by installing barriers in these areas. Its main objective is to take action against speeding bikers, motorcycles without silencers and youth doing dangerous stunts.

Apart from this, the police have visited religious places throughout the month of Ramadan to review old disputes and try to resolve them.

QRT and mobile patrol unit deployment

To further strengthen security, mobile patrol units and quick response teams (QRT) have also been deployed. Sector and zone wise security arrangements have been implemented in the areas of the old city, where a large number of people gather for Namaz. Officials said that constant communication has been maintained with the organizers and religious leaders.

The Joint Commissioner also said, “We are constantly monitoring social media, so that if any kind of rumor or misleading news is spread, we can take immediate action on it. Our aim is to conduct the festival peacefully with the cooperation of the public.”
