According to ZnewsChinese outlet Swamp reported Wednesday that Li, once a top star earning 70 million yuan (US$10.1 million) annually and backed by numerous endorsement deals, has not been approached for any film or television roles.
He is now preparing to organize music events, though those efforts have also faced challenges.
Li was recently spotted at a mountain in China’s Liaoning Province. A source close to him told local media the trip was not for leisure but to “pray for luck,” as he hopes his upcoming concerts will proceed smoothly.
Sohu reported that Li’s chances of returning to acting are slim, prompting him to focus instead on live music performances.
According to Global TimesLi was detained in September 2022 for soliciting prostitutes and later admitted to the allegations.
In August 2025, a court ordered a 49.9 million yuan asset freeze on his company, The Standard reported. The move is believed to be tied to compensation for breached advertising contracts and losses stemming from projects that could not be released following the scandal.
Li, 37, began his career as a singer in 2007 before transitioning to acting in 2009. He is known for his roles in television dramas including “Swords of Legends,” “The Lost Tomb,” “Noble Aspirations,” “Sparrow,” “Fearless Whispers,” and “Day Breaker.”
He ranked 9th on the Forbes China Celebrity List in 2015, 11th in 2017, and 26th in 2019.
