Building a strong relationship with your neighbour is incredibly important. They can be there for you when you're on holiday, need someone to take the bins out or even receive a parcel in your name.
Now one person revealed how they're living next to a neighbour from hell after their annoying morning habit cost them £150 in damages. They explained how the male neighbour, believed to be in his 50s, has an automatic sprinkler system which switches on every morning at 6:30am, but the only problem is – it's angled directly to hit their car parked on their driveway.
Posting on Reddit, the person wrote: "My neighbour (late 50s) has an automatic sprinkler system that turns on every morning at 6:30am. One of his sprinkler heads is angled directly at my driveway where I park my car.
"Every single morning my car gets completely soaked. We're talking drenched – water pooling on the hood, all over the windows, everything. My car is constantly covered in water spots and mineral deposits.
"I've asked him FIVE TIMES to adjust that sprinkler head. He says "the system is professionally installed and calibrated perfectly" and refuses to touch it."
After showing him how much water is hitting the car, the neighbour told them: "A little water never hurt anyone," and that they should be grateful he's "helping" to wash their car for free.
But since the car's paint is getting damaged from mineral deposits, the person has had to fork out $200 (£150) for a professional to fix the water spots. Hoping their neighbour would reimburse, instead, he just laughed in his face and said it's their problem.
They continued: "I've started parking on the street but it's a 5 minute walk to my house and street parking is limited. My own driveway should be usable!
"I adjusted his sprinkler head myself one morning. He called the cops on me for 'tampering with his property'. The cops said I can't touch his stuff even if it's spraying onto my property."
Concluding the post, the person alleged the neighbour has even turned the sprinkler to spray more towards their driveway now, claiming: "I think he's doing it on purpose."
Since sharing their problem on social media, many people fled to the comments section. After racking up nearly 500 comments, many people suggested they got their own revenge back.
One said: "Grass killer stuff. Spray it on the plastic sheet. Angle it so it drains back onto his grass."
Another added: "Even common kitchen salt would probably do the trick."
