The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is starting from March 28. The opening match is to be played between defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. IPL this season can also be in the name of uncapped players. This biggest cricket league of the world has made unknown players stars season after season. This time too, some such players are emerging, who can give a new direction to their career from the platform of IPL. Read about those 5 uncapped players who are going to be watched the most.

Aaqib Nabi Dar

Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Aaqib Nabi Dar has been bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 8.4 crore. Aaqib is going through excellent form. He recently made Jammu and Kashmir the champion by taking 60 wickets in the Ranji Trophy. Right arm fast bowler Aaqib has also shown his talent in white ball cricket. He took 15 wickets in 7 matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). Apart from swinging the ball both ways, he can also score valuable runs in the lower order.

Prashant Veer

Uttar Pradesh’s left arm spin all-rounder Prashant Veer was in great demand in the auction held in November last year. He was signed by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a huge sum of Rs 14.2 crore. CSK had made a big bid on Prashant to fill the place of Ravindra Jadeja. Prashant has emerged from the UP T20 League. In this UP league, he scored 370 runs and took 8 wickets. Also, before the auction, he had performed well for UP, due to which many franchises had their eyes on him.

Karthik Sharma

CSK had also opened its coffers for Rajasthan wicketkeeper batsman Karthik Sharma. ‘Six Hitting Machine’ Karthik was included in their team by CSK for Rs 14.2 crore. In this way Prashant and Karthik became the two most expensive uncapped players in IPL history. 19 year old Karthik can change the situation by coming in the middle overs. He has scored runs at an average of 162.92 so far in his T20 career. He has hit 28 sixes in 12 matches.

Ashok Sharma

Ashok Sharma of Rajasthan had wreaked havoc in SMAT 2025. He made headlines by taking 22 wickets in 10 matches. However, in the IPL auction held during SMAT, the bid for him was not as big as was expected. Gujarat Titans included him in their team for Rs 90 lakh. This fast bowler, who consistently bowls at a speed of 140 km per hour, is being considered as the backup of Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna. If he gets a chance, he can do wonders in IPL like in SMAT. Let us tell you that Ashok has also been a part of Kolkata Knight Riders (2022) and Rajasthan Royals (2025) in IPL. Although he did not get a chance to debut.

Mangesh Yadav

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) surprised everyone by making a bid of Rs 5 crore 20 lakh for 23-year-old Mangesh Yadav. This all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh has played only 5 matches in domestic cricket so far, in which he has proved his ability with ball and bat. Mangesh came at number eight against Punjab in SMAT and scored unbeaten 28 runs in 12 balls. Earlier in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, he had attracted RCB captain Rajat Patidar by taking 14 wickets in 6 matches. Mangesh is an expert in bowling accurate yorkers in the death overs. This left arm fast bowler is being considered as the replacement for Yash Dayal.
