In this series, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav started the “Murti Devi-Malti Devi Mahila Samman” program in Lucknow today on March 22. This step is being seen as an attempt to win over women voters in its favor. Murti Devi is Akhilesh Yadav’s grandmother and Malti Devi is his mother. Through this honour, SP will recognize women personalities from various fields. In the program, awards will be presented in 20 different categories in the names of great women like Phoolan Devi, Savitribai Phule, Ahilyabai Holkar, Begum Akhtar, Mahadevi Verma, Saraswati Ammal, Sarojini Naidu, Ismat Chughtai, Uda Devi, Rani Lakshmibai. Each award will be of Rs 1 lakh, which Samajwadi Party will give to women who have contributed in various fields of women’s society.

Will hold press conference at SP headquarters at 11 am

Akhilesh Yadav will also hold a press conference today at 11 am at the party headquarters in Lucknow. In this he will give detailed information about the objective of this Mahila Samman Yojana, selection process and upcoming announcements. SP believes that this initiative will increase confidence in the party among women and will strengthen women voter support in the assembly elections. Experts say that this step has clearly been taken as a political strategy. The number of women voters in UP is quite large and their thinking can influence the election results. In such a situation, giving honors and awards in the name of women personalities will send a positive message to the public.
