A horror crash in Sydney's west has resulted in one fatality and five injuries, including two children. An SUV veered off Stuart Road in Dharruk, colliding with a tree. The deceased, a passenger, died at the scene. The injured were transported to Westmead Hospital and The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

Sydney Car Crash: At least one person has died and five others, including two children, have suffered injuries and been hospitalised following a horror crash in Sydney's west. According to 9News, the incident occurred on Stuart Road at Dharruk, about 45 km west of the Sydney CBD, where an SUV left the road and smashed into a tree just after 5 PM on Sunday (March 22, 2026).

The deceased was a man believed to have been a passenger in the SUV. He died at the scene and was found to have been partially ejected from the vehicle, 9News reported.

Emergency services were called to the scene. Five other people who were injured following the crash were two men, a woman, and two toddlers. They were taken to Westmead Hospital and The Children's Hospital at Westmead for treatment.


The adults are reportedly in a serious but stable condition. The children are stable. An investigation has been launched into the incident by the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU), and police have established a crime scene.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, a man was charged after allegedly leading police on a pursuit through Sydney's west that ended in a two-hour siege at an apartment block, according to 9News.

The chase kicked off just after 3 AM when police tried to stop a Toyota Camry on Aurora Drive in Tregear. Police began chasing the car along Luxford Road, where it was allegedly seen on video speeding, before it turned into a block of flats on Halinda Street in Whalan.
