The wait is soon coming to an end for the more than 2.5 million candidates who appeared for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon announce the CTET exam results, which can be checked on the official website, ctet.nic.in. Currently, the review process is underway for those candidates who had registered objections against the answer key. As soon as this process is completed, the results will be released immediately.
This year, the passing percentage for the CTET exam is expected to be higher compared to previous years. Separate cut-offs and passing marks have been prescribed for both papers of the CTET examination. Candidates belonging to the General category are required to secure a minimum of 60 percent marks, while candidates from reserved categories have been granted a relaxation in the passing marks.
When will CBSE release the CTET 2026 results?
Based on past trends, CBSE typically declares the CTET exam results within 4 to 6 weeks of the examination. Consequently, the CTET 2026 results are likely to be announced by the end of March or during the first week of April this year. However, the Board has not yet made an official announcement regarding the exact date of the result declaration.
How to check the CTET results?
First, visit the official CTET website: ctet.nic.in.

Then, enter your Roll Number and click on the 'Submit' button.
Your CTET scorecard will now appear on the screen.
Download your scorecard and take a printout for future reference.
CTET Passing Marks and Cut-off
General Category: A minimum of 90 marks out of 150 (60%) is required.
Reserved Categories (OBC/SC/ST): A minimum of 82 marks out of 150 (55%) is required. Keep in mind that CTET is merely an eligibility test and does not guarantee employment. However, without a CTET certificate, you cannot apply for government teacher recruitment positions. The CTET result serves as the first step toward realizing the dream of becoming a teacher in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), and other government schools.
Validity of the CTET Certificate
The greatest advantage for candidates is that the CTET certificate is now valid for a lifetime. This means that once you pass the CTET examination, you do not need to retake the exam unless you wish to improve your score. Previously, the CTET certificate was valid for only a limited number of years.
What to Do After the CTET Results Are Announced?
Candidates who pass the CTET 2026 examination will be able to download their mark sheets and eligibility certificates from the official DigiLocker website, digilocker.gov.in. These digitally signed documents are valid across all institutions. Subsequently, candidates can apply for upcoming teacher recruitment examinations, such as those conducted by the DSSSB, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and various state-level teacher recruitment bodies.
