Even as MS Dhoni moves closer to the final phase of his legendary career, fans simply aren’t ready to let him go. Among them is popular Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan who made a heartfelt and unusual request, he wants Dhoni to keep playing till the age of 60!
Over the years, every IPL season has brought fresh speculation about Dhoni’s retirement, especially after his famous “definitely not” response back in the IPL 2020. This time too, the topic came up during a pre-season event at Chepauk, where past and present Chennai Super Kings players gathered in front of an energetic crowd.
Instead of asking the usual question about retirement after the IPL 2026, Sivakarthikeyan lightened the mood by suggesting Dhoni continue for another decade. The crowd loved it and cheered loudly.
MS Dhoni, known for his calm and honest nature, responded simply by saying it would be very difficult. But the actor insisted that with Dhoni’s fitness, it might still be possible. Staying humble as always, Dhoni admitted that his fitness is gradually declining, not improving, though he added with a smile that he could still try. This playful exchange sent the crowd into excitement, almost as if they had already got the answer they wanted.

Meanwhile, CSK also celebrated its legacy by inducting Suresh Raina and Matthew Hayden into their first ever Hall of Fame during the “Roar’26” event. Suresh Raina was a key part of four title-winning teams, while Matthew Hayden played a crucial role in the 2010 victory and once won the Orange Cap for his wonderful batting.
The event also saw the presence of legends like Muttiah Muralitharan, Ambati Rayudu, Lakshmipathy Balaji, S Badrinath and Michael Hussey.
Now, all eyes are on CSK’s opening clash against Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on March 30, where fans will once again hope to see MS Dhoni create magic.
