New Delhi, 23 March 2026: Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has raised an important issue in the interest of crores of mobile users of the country during Zero Hour in the Parliament today. He has demanded that the data of mobile users which remains unused should be allowed to be used the next day. Along with this, he has also advocated providing the facility to transfer data between users.

Raghav Chadha had said in the house that most of the users take 1.5 GB or 2 GB data plan every day. But if due to some reason the user cannot use the entire data on that day, then the remaining data expires at 12 midnight. He raised the question, “If the companies charge the users for all the data, then why do the companies keep the excess data with themselves? Why is it not forwarded the next day?”

To present his point strongly, Raghav Chadha gave the example of petrol and said, “If you fill 15 liters of petrol in your car and 5 liters of petrol is left, then the owner of the petrol pump does not say that return the remaining petrol to me. You can use that petrol whenever you want. Then why is it so about data? The user should get the right to use his entire data.”

The MP further said that data rollover facility is available in many developed countries of the world like America, Europe, Netherlands and Australia. This method should be implemented in India also. Making another important demand, he said, “Just as we transfer money to each other online, similarly technical permission should also be given so that one user can transfer his/her data to another user.”

If the government accepts this demand and new guidelines are issued by TRAI, then the money of crores of Indians will be saved and the arbitrariness of mobile companies will be curbed. This issue is currently under discussion on social media and people are welcoming this initiative of Raghav Chadha.
