The government of Himachal Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has implemented significant modifications to the Town and Country Planning (TCP) regulations, resulting in increased costs for home construction for local residents.
According to the updated rules, any construction that exceeds the authorized limits will incur substantial fees, which range from ₹3,000 to ₹7,000 per square meter. Urban areas, including municipal corporations and councils, will face the highest charges, while smaller towns will have comparatively lower rates.
Moreover, additional fees may apply for construction projects located near highways, further escalating expenses for both builders and homeowners.
This policy change is anticipated to directly affect the financial planning of ordinary citizens, as constructing homes in Himachal Pradesh will now demand stricter adherence to regulations and increased financial outlay.
