Even today, many marriages are arranged in our society without the full consent of the boy or girl or without knowing their reality. Sometimes there is some defect in the boy, sometimes the boy and the girl are homosexual or they are having an affair somewhere else. Despite all these reasons, following the saying 'get the marriage done even after telling a hundred lies', the family members get the marriage done. At the same time, in some cases the boys are only greedy for money. What they want is not the daughter-in-law, but the gold and money that comes with the son.
Due to all these reasons, it is often the girl who suffers in the family. It is true that in some cases boys also get trapped in false cases, but when it comes to greed for money, in most of the cases it is the girl who becomes its victim. One such case has come to light in Bengaluru. Many girls silently tolerate the atrocities being committed on them, but here a woman showed courage and lodged a complaint with the police.
The woman complains that even after several months of marriage, her husband did not agree to the wedding night. She said in her complaint, "I am married to a man named Raghavendra. He has not been coming to me since the day of my marriage. He does not even tell me the reason when asked and always stays away from me. I myself tried to talk to him, but he did not agree. He just keeps looking for opportunities to run away from me. There is no relationship between us till date."
This case has been registered at Subramanyapura Police Station in Bengaluru. The woman told that whenever she tried to talk about this, her in-laws would torture her. The woman alleges, "Despite giving expensive jewelery and items at the time of marriage, they are demanding more money." The woman is confused about whether her in-laws are not allowing her husband to come to her due to greed for money, or whether there is some flaw in the husband due to which he has been behaving like this since the first day of marriage.
The woman said, "When I questioned all these things, my husband left me alone at home and went away. There is no contact with him, nor is he able to meet me to talk." Seeing no other option, the woman has now approached the police. Subramanyapura police has registered an FIR against six people including the husband. Police said a case has been registered under BNS section 85 (cruelty by husband or relatives), BNS section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and Dowry Prohibition Act. The case has been handed over to Mahila Police Station and investigation is ongoing.
