In a remarkable display of loyalty and teamwork, seven dogs in China have captured hearts online after escaping a dog thief and travelling nearly 17 km to find their way back home.
Later they were seen crossing open fields, with social media users recognising the dogs from the widely shared footage. Reports suggest the group travelled for two days, covering more than 17 km.
Concerned netizens and animal rescue volunteers used online updates to track the dogs’ movements, eventually locating them and reuniting them with their respective owners.
According to a rescue volunteer, all seven dogs were safely returned home on March 19. Medical checks showed they were largely healthy, with only minor injuries.
Their owners expressed immense relief and gratitude, thankful that their pets escaped a tragic fate and made it back safely.
