New Delhi:The world of Artificial Intelligence is changing rapidly and now AI is moving towards working not just as an assistant but as a ‘remote employee’. Anthropic has introduced a new feature for its AI Model Cloud, which could completely change the way we use computers.
According to the company, now users will not need to sit in front of their laptop for every work. By giving the cloud full access to the computer, it will be able to complete many tasks on its own, making the way of working easier and more automated than ever before.
Anthropic announced at X that the cloud can now control users’ computers like humans. It can not only use the mouse, keyboard and screen but can also access various apps when needed.
The company claims that through this technology the cloud can complete many important tasks even in the absence of the user.
With this new update, the cloud has gained the ability to open applications, run browsers, fill out spreadsheets and handle other common computer tasks. That means now he can do almost every work which the user usually does himself.
Anthropology researcher Alex Albert has made a big claim about this technology. He wrote on X, "The future where I never need to open my laptop to work is quickly becoming a reality."
Initially the cloud gets access to the user’s connected apps like Slack or Calendar. After this, permission can also be taken for other apps as per requirement.
According to Anthropic’s Felix Reisenberg, this feature works with the cloud’s dispatch feature, allowing the AI to be controlled remotely.
Through this technology, the cloud works like a personal AI agent, which can automatically complete various tasks for the user. The user can go anywhere just by giving instructions and his work can be completed by the time he returns.
This feature is currently available as a research preview for paid users of Cloud Cowork and Cloud Code. Currently this feature is working only on macOS platform.
Also, to use it, it is necessary to update and pair the desktop and mobile apps.
This move by Anthropic reflects the rapidly growing AI trend towards automation and remote work management. This is expected to give the company an edge over its competitors.
AI agents like OpenClaw are becoming increasingly popular, while Nvidia has launched its own version, NemoClaw. At the same time, Meta and OpenAI are also continuously working on agentic AI.
