A "massive" closing down sale has been launched in one store as it closes its branch in one of the UK's most vibrant cities. Sobeys Vintage Clothing shop on Park Street, in Bristol, is closing at the end of April, following last year's closures in Exeter and Cardiff. The store, which is known for selling affordable vintage clothes, has announced the closing-down sale via its social media accounts, teasing the generous discounts on offer.
"We are sad to announce that our Park Street store will be closing its doors at the end of April," its announcement reads.
"We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing customers who have supported us throughout the years. It has truly been a wonderful journey and we've enjoyed serving each and every one of you. Thank you for the memories and for being part of our story. Bye for now, Bristol."
The team added: "Some massive sales happening in store until then - go grab yourselves a bargain."
Meanwhile, posters on the windows of the shop read: "Everything must go! Up to 75 per cent off in store."
The business also has a store in Bath, which remains open. It had previously closed its branches in Cardiff, Exeter and also the other store in Broadmead, Bristol.
Its Broadmead store stopped trading in 2024, while the other stores closed in 2025. A sign in the window of the Park Street branch reads: "We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing customers who have supported us throughout the years.
"It has truly been a wonderful journey, and we've enjoyed serving each and every one of you.
"While this chapter is ending, your shopping needs can still be met at the nearest Sobeys store, conveniently located just a short train ride away in Bath. Thank you for the memories and for being part of our story."
It will be a significant loss for Bristol, as the city is known for its wide selection of charity shops and vintage shops where locals buy second-hand items.
Its Exeter store had been trading for ten years. Announcing that closure last year, store bosses said: "Exeter, we've loved nothing more than making your vintage dreams come true these past 10 years but all good things must come to an end."
