The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a module which used to supply international weapons. It has links with illegal arms suppliers in Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. 10 people associated with this gang have been arrested. 21 foreign pistols, machine guns, 200 live cartridges and automatic pistols have been recovered from them.

Automatic weapons have also been recovered from them, which include sub-machine guns (made in Czech Republic) and different pistols. These include the PX-5.7, Stoeger (made in Turkey), PX-3 (made in China), Shadow CZ (made in Czech Republic), Beretta (made in Italy), Taurus (made in Brazil), and Walther (made in Germany). PX-5.7 is used only by Special Forces.

What did the police say?

These weapons were smuggled into India from Pakistan through the India-Nepal border and then supplied to criminal gangs operating in Delhi-NCR and other states.

According to the police, this gang was involved in the supply of weapons not only at the interstate but also at the international level. At present, the interrogation of the accused is going on and other people associated with the network are being searched.
