FASTag New Scheme: During travel, filth and unclean restrooms at toll plazas often pose a significant problem. To address this issue, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has launched a special initiative. According to the government, if a driver encounters an unclean restroom at a toll plaza, they can take a photograph of it, submit it, and receive a FASTag credit of ₹1,000 in return. Let us explain what this new NHAI scheme entails and how one can avail of this ₹1,000 FASTag recharge.

What is this Scheme?
This initiative is named the 'Clean Toilet Picture Challenge.' Its objective is to encourage travelers to report instances of filth or poor hygiene whenever they encounter them at toll plazas. To benefit from this scheme, all you need to do is take a photograph of the unclean restroom and upload it to the 'Rajmargyatra' app. The government has explicitly clarified that this is not a scam; it is a genuine, reward-based program designed to improve cleanliness standards at toll plazas. The Central Government has extended this challenge until June 30.

How to Claim the Reward?
If the photograph you have uploaded is verified as authentic, you will receive a FASTag credit of ₹1,000. This amount will be credited directly to your FASTag account, which you can then utilize to pay toll taxes. Once the verification process for the photograph is complete, the reward amount will be credited within five days to the FASTag linked to your vehicle's VRN (Vehicle Registration Number).

What is the Objective of this Initiative?
The primary objective of this scheme is to enhance cleanliness and hygiene at toll plazas. The government aims to encourage public participation in this campaign, urging citizens to report any instances of filth or unclean restrooms they encounter. This initiative seeks to ensure that travelers at toll plazas have access to better and cleaner amenities.
