Vigilance has once again been increased regarding security arrangements in Jammu and Kashmir. On the basis of inputs received from intelligence agencies, high alert has been issued in the entire Union Territory. There are indications in these inputs that terrorist organizations are planning a major attack targeting security forces through IED (Improvised Explosive Device).
According to sources, this alert has been shared with all the security agencies and forces deployed at the ground level, so that any possible threat can be dealt with in advance. Security forces have been instructed to limit their movement and avoid using non-bulletproof vehicles. As a precautionary measure, patrolling and operational movement has now been advised to be done only through bulletproof vehicles. Along with this, extra vigilance has been asked in sensitive areas.
It has also been feared in the intelligence inputs that terrorists may repeat the old pattern, which included incidents of first IED blast and then indiscriminate firing. In such a situation, security forces have been instructed to be prepared for every situation and take action as per SOP. At present, security agencies are keeping an eye on the entire situation and are alert to take immediate action on any suspicious activity.
It is being told that in view of the possibility of terrorist attack for the last two weeks, 'see and kill' campaigns are being conducted in the entire state to assess the security arrangements and identify some sensitive places. Special operations team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and Army personnel are conducting anti-terrorist operations in these areas separately or jointly as per the circumstances of the particular area. Special monitoring is also being done on highways and access routes to remote areas. Drones and sniffer dogs have also been included in anti-terrorist operations.
Terrorist organizations or Naxalites use IED to cause large-scale damage. More lethal and faster incendiary chemicals are used in IEDs. Therefore, as soon as the IED blasts, a fire breaks out on the spot. Keep it on the roadside. As soon as a foot or wheel of a vehicle falls on it, it explodes. Apart from this, methods like remote control, infrared trip wire are also used to trigger IED. When an ID blast occurs, a massive fire immediately occurs. In the blast, smoke also comes out very fast, which causes more damage.
