Jhalawar: The much-discussed Renu alias Nimanta murder case of Jhalawar district of Rajasthan has taken a disgusting turn which has put humanity to shame. Even the police officers were stunned to hear the revelations made by the accused husband Devikripal alias David, who was caught by the police, during interrogation. The accused was absconding after killing his wife, but during this absconding, instead of feeling remorse, he was having fun with girls and women in different hotels. Police have recovered photographs and objectionable chats of many girls from the mobile phone of the accused.
After about five months of hard work, Jhalawar Police has succeeded in arresting the accused Devikripal from RKpuram area of Kota. The scene of arrest was no less than a film scene; Seeing himself surrounded, the accused tried to run away by hitting the police vehicle with his car, but the alert soldiers caught him. A reward of Rs 25,000 was declared on the accused and a lookout notice was also issued against him. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime of murdering his wife.
According to Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar, on that dreadful night of 6 November 2025, Renu was murdered very brutally. Initially, the in-laws and the husband had tried to hush up the matter by calling it an accident of ‘falling down the stairs’. But the post mortem report exposed the layers of lies. 19 serious injury marks were found on Renu’s body, which screamed and testified that she had been beaten to death. Scientific investigation by the FSL team also confirmed that it was not an accident but a murder carried out as part of a well-planned conspiracy.
The investigation revealed the shocking fact that Devikripal had illicit relations with many other women. When Renu got wind of this and started protesting, fights started happening in the house every day. Renu had also told her in-laws about this, which enraged David even more. He made a plan to remove Renu from the way. The surprising thing is that after the murder, when the police were searching for him, he was staying in hotels in different cities and having relations with other women.
On the night of the incident, the accused’s nephew Komal Meena had booked a room in a hotel, where a liquor party took place. At around 2 o’clock in the night, Devikripal left the hotel and went home and committed the crime. At 5 in the morning, he and his nephew reached Aklera Hospital with Renu’s body, but as soon as the doctors declared her dead, both of them ran away from there. The accused did not attend his home and even the funeral, due to which the police’s suspicion turned into certainty. At present the police is conducting raids in search of Komal Meena and another associate.
