Ram Navami 2026 Bhog: In Hinduism, the festival of Ram Navami is celebrated with immense reverence and faith. It is believed that Lord Rama was born on the *Navami* (ninth) *Tithi* of the *Chaitra Shukla Paksha* (the waxing phase of the moon in the month of Chaitra); therefore, on this day, devotees perform special worship and prayers to Him, seeking happiness and prosperity. According to the Hindu *Panchang* (calendar), this year, the *Chaitra Shukla Navami Tithi* will commence on March 26 at 11:48 AM and conclude on March 27, 2026, at 10:06 AM. Based on the *Udaya Tithi* (the *Tithi* prevailing at sunrise), Ram Navami will be celebrated on March 26 this year.
On this auspicious occasion, alongside the worship rituals, offering *Bhog* (sacred food offerings) that are dear to Lord Rama hold special significance. Let us explore which specific food items are considered auspicious to offer as *Bhog* on this day.
Panchamrit Prasad
According to the scriptures, *Panchamrit* holds a special place in the worship of Lord Vishnu. Since Lord Rama is considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, offering *Panchamrit* on this day is also considered highly auspicious. It is prepared by mixing equal quantities of milk, yogurt, ghee (clarified butter), honey, and *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges). It is essential to add *Tulsi* leaves (holy basil) to it, as the offering is considered incomplete without them.
Sweet Rice
On Ram Navami, yellow-colored sweet rice is also offered as *Bhog*. It is prepared using rice, sugar, saffron, cardamom, and dry fruits. The color yellow is considered a symbol of auspiciousness and wisdom—qualities that are closely associated with the divine attributes of Lord Rama.
Dhania Panjiri
Offering *Dhania Panjiri* (coriander-based sweet) to Lord Rama on Ram Navami is considered auspicious. It is prepared at home with great purity, using roasted coriander powder, ghee, sugar, and dry fruits. It is believed that this particular offering is especially dear to Lord Rama.
Kheer and Puri
*Kheer*—a sweet pudding made from pure milk and rice—is described in the scriptures as being akin to *Amrit* (the nectar of immortality). According to mythological legends, King Dasharatha received *Kheer* as *Prasad* (sacred offering) following the performance of the *Putreshti Yagna* (a ritual performed to pray for progeny). For this very reason, offering *Kheer* (rice pudding) as *Bhog* on Ram Navami is considered extremely auspicious. Along with this, *Poori* is also offered as *Prasad*.
Offering of Fruits
On the day of Ram Navami, offering seasonal fruits as *Bhog* is also considered a meritorious act. You may offer fruits such as apples, bananas, oranges, grapes, pomegranates, or sweet potatoes. The significance of the purity of fruits can be further understood from the fact that Mother Shabari lovingly offered *Ber* (jujube fruits) to Lord Shri Ram.
