Relief has arrived for students preparing for engineering entrance exams. For quite some time, there had been discussions regarding potential changes to the exam pattern for JEE Advanced 2026, creating a state of confusion among aspirants. Now, IIT Roorkee has put an end to all these speculations. The institute has clarified that the format of the examination will remain unchanged.

Speculations Regarding Changes Put to Rest
For some time now, various discussions have been circulating regarding the introduction of a new pattern for the exam. The Joint Admission Board (JAB) had even considered implementing an "additive pattern" during its meetings. However, following IIT Roorkee's recent decision, it is now clear that no new changes of any kind will be implemented this year.

Exam Date and Eligibility
JEE Advanced 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on May 17. Only those students who successfully qualify in JEE Main and secure a spot among the top 2.5 lakh candidates will be eligible to appear for this examination. In other words, performing well in the JEE Main examination first is a prerequisite.

Registration and Other Important Dates
The online registration process for this examination will commence on April 23 and conclude on May 2. Meanwhile, the second session of JEE Main 2026 is set to begin on April 2. Paper-1 (B.E./B.Tech) will be conducted on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8, while Paper-2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) will be held on April 7.

Admit Cards and Exam City Slips
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Exam City Slips for the examination. The admit cards for the candidates are also expected to be released shortly; students will be able to download these admit cards to appear for the examination.
