Iran calls US-Israel strikes ‘one-sided’, says conflict serves Washington and Tel Aviv

As US-Israeli strikes continue across Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz and Karaj, Iran’s frustration is now spilling into public statements. A senior Iranian official has declared the situation “unfair and one-sided,” arguing the conflict serves only Washington and Tel Aviv’s interests, not international law, not regional stability, and certainly not Iran.

Why Iran Feels Cornered

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi questioned Washington’s calls for negotiations, saying the US shift in tone amounted to an acknowledgement of failure after previously demanding “unconditional surrender.” For Tehran, this reads as moving goalposts  fight on unfavourable terms or surrender on even worse ones.

How the Battlefield Tells the Story

Israeli military officials say the war has degraded Iran’s chain of command, delayed its nuclear plans and destroyed military industries  but acknowledge Iran remains “an active, dangerous player.” Israel just eliminated the IRGC Navy Commander. Netanyahu publicly credited US cooperation. The optics alone confirm what Iran is saying this is a coordinated two-front pressure campaign.

What Iran Is Doing About It

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf flatly denied any talks had taken place, accusing the US of using negotiations to “escape the quagmire in which the US and Israel are trapped.” Tehran is rejecting the narrative, refusing to be seen as begging for peace on someone else’s terms.

The Bottom Line

Iran is calling the game rigged. Whether that argument finds international traction, or simply buys time before the next strike lands, remains the defining question of this conflict.
