Relief has been given to farmers affected by hailstorm and excessive rain in UP. 286 farmers from 21 districts received ₹13.34 lakh due to hailstorm. At the same time, assistance worth ₹ 4.47 crore was provided to 9992 farmers of 17 districts due to excessive rainfall.

Lucknow, 28 March. In Uttar Pradesh, farmers' crops have suffered losses due to bad weather, storm and rain in the past few days. Taking cognizance of this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given strict instructions to the officials to go into the field and speed up the relief work and maintain constant monitoring. Taking immediate action, the state government is providing financial assistance to the affected farmers. A total of 244.23 hectares of crops have been damaged in 21 districts of the state due to hailstorm. So far, relief amount of ₹ 13,34,217 has been distributed to 286 farmers affected by this disaster. At the same time, the situation remained more serious due to excessive rainfall. Crops have been damaged in 4053.11 hectare area in 17 districts of the state. A total of 14,207 farmers were affected during this period, out of which 9,992 farmers have been provided financial assistance of ₹ 4,47,24,779 so far.

Yogi government helped in the havoc of nature

Apart from this, due to unseasonal heavy rains in the past few days (from March 15, 2026 to March 22, 2026), 11 hectares of crop damage was recorded in 5 villages of Saharanpur district, in which 44 farmers have been affected. Crop damage has been recorded in 1650.75 hectare area in 3 tehsils of Lalitpur district, in which a total of 3142 farmers have been affected. The assessment of crop damage is being done expeditiously by the state government and the process of providing relief to eligible farmers has been given priority. Officials have been instructed to immediately provide assistance to the remaining affected farmers, so that they can manage their financial situation and prepare for the upcoming crop. Farmers have got great relief from this quick relief system of the state government. Constant monitoring is being done by the administration to ensure that no affected farmer is deprived of assistance.
