The Arrogant Hyena

Once upon a time, in a land far away known as the middle of African savanna, there lived many animals that roamed a land with long tall grass and shining sunshine.

The land was ruled by a powerful king. He wanted to create the best animal for his next successor.

To search for the successor, The King created a competition that is a running race between the animals.

Many animals were interested, some of the fastest animals also participated like Gazelles, Cheetah, Lion and Rabbit, but one animal stood out, that was Hyena.

The Hyena was so prideful and claimed that he would be the next king because Hyena thought that he was the fastest.

In the event, Hyena boasted himself and became arrogant with other animals.

The King could stop Hyena because The King must abide by the rules of the race.

Right before the race, Hyena shouted to all the participants and visitors.

"I am the Hyena, the fastest animal in Africa and I will be your true ruler," Hyena shouted.

Next to him is a Cheetah, another participant that wanted to challenge Hyena in the race.

Cheetah wanted to remind Hyena that being arrogant would destroy in the end.

"Hey, Hyena, do not belittle anyone here, you do not know what other animals are capable of," said Cheetah sternly.

Hyena felt irritated by what the Cheetah said, so Hyena wanted to make a bet with Cheetah.

"You think you can run faster than me? Then let's make a bet," said Hyena with pride in his words.

"Let's make a bet just between the two of us, whoever wins the race, the loser must bow to the winner and the entire animal in this savanna," said Hyena with pride.

"Are you sure? This bet will last until you die one day," said Cheetah doubly.

"Of course! Because I know, I will be the true winner and will be crowned as the new king" said Hyena.

"Okay, I will take your bet," said Cheetah.

Then, the entire animal took place in the track that was prepared for the race by The King.

Everyone watching held their breath as every animal took steps and prepared to run.

As every animal prepare, The King shouted,

"The race will begin when the coconut that i throw upward hit the dirt"

Everyone watched as the king threw the coconut to the air, as the coconut fell and hit the ground, every participant began to run.

The Hyena did run fast even outpaced other animals.

Hyena felt winning and the crown right in front of Hyena's eyes but suddenly, something quickly passed by him.

It was the Cheetah that passed Hyena with agility and quick run.

Right in The Hyena eyes, the Cheetah crossed the finish line.

The Hyena wept after losing to Cheetah and as the bet agreed, the Hyena began to bow to everyone as he lost in the race.

As he bowed to every animal, Hyena posture changed and that is why, Hyena posture is a bit bowing.
