New Delhi, 29 March 2026: The 19th edition of the world’s largest cricket league, the Indian Premier League, is starting from today. Since its inception in 2008, the league has achieved new heights and set new records with each new season. Some records on the field remain unbroken even after years, and it is possible that they will remain on top in IPL 2026. The record of highest participation in IPL is in the name of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. RCB players made a partnership of 229 runs against Gujarat Lions on May 14, 2016. Kohli and de Villiers had scored centuries. In that match, De Villiers scored 129 runs in 52 balls, while Kohli scored 109 runs in 55 balls.

The record of fastest half-century in IPL is in the name of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, he scored a half-century in 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 11, 2023.

Most runs in IPL season

This is an unbreakable record in the name of Virat Kohli, which is very difficult to break. Kohli had made this record by scoring 973 runs in the 2016 season. Kohli had scored four centuries and seven half-centuries in the 2016 edition. Gill came close to breaking this record by scoring 890 runs in 2023.

Gayle, playing for RCB, scored 37 runs in the over of Kochi Tuskers bowler Parasnath Parameshwaran in 2011. Jadeja, playing for CSK in 2021, scored 37 runs in Harshal Patel’s over against RCB.
