Honnavar: A fire broke out at the Honnavar branch of U.K. Souharda Society Limited located in the Jenu Society building near the bus stand in Honnavar on Sunday afternoon, March 29.

According to reports, the fire started from a CCTV wire inside the bank, leading to thick smoke filling the premises. Locals who noticed the smoke informed the police and fire department.

Fire and emergency personnel reached the spot quickly and brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby shops.

Documents and furniture inside the bank were damaged in the incident. As it was a रविवार holiday, no customers were present, and a major mishap was avoided.
