A popular high street fashion chain loved by Princess Catherine has vowed to open 10 more stores across the UK, adding to its existing portfolio of 43. Jigsaw dates back to 1970 and has its roots in Richmond in London, but has expanded across the country to have stores in Edinburgh, Leeds, Belfast, Nottingham and Cambridge, as well as many other UK towns and cities. The brand's managing director Tikki Godley confirmed plans to increase the retailer's existing store portfolio by close to a quarter.
This will reportedly be done with the help of Colliers, which has other fashion clients such as Oliver Bonas and Sweaty Betty. It comes after the fashion retailer revealed its impressive Christmas trading season, which saw overall sales rise by 26%, while in-store sales increased by 14%. The brand said that under new leadership brought in at the beginning of 2025, the fashion brand "sharpened its focus on product, fit and fabric - reconnecting with customers seeking timeless design, quality craftsmanship and wearable collections that transcend seasons".
Bosses have now confirmed they are "planning to expand its retail footprint across the country". They revealed: "The business is investing in stores that bring the brand experience closer to its growing customer base."
There are no confirmed plans as to where these new stores will be. Jigsaw recently opened its refurbished 65 Kensington High Street flagship store, which had closed in 2023 for renovations.
Jigsaw is mainly known for womenswear, much of which has been spotted on Princess Catherine over the years. It also sells shoes, bags and other accessories.
Princess Catherine was actually once employed at the company as an assistant accessories buyer, working four days a week there. Jigsaw also has 28 concessions in John Lewis and Fenwick in the UK, as well as the Arnotts department store in Dublin, Ireland.
It is one of several high street chains that have announced plans to open new stores across the UK as others, such as River Island and GAME, shut down a number of shops.
Fashion brand Hollister, for example, is opening a brand new store in Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex, which is one of the largest shopping destinations in the country. Meanwhile, Superdrug announced plans to open 30 new stores throughout the coming year, extending its reach across all four corners of the country.
