Similarly, the price of 22-carat gold per 10 grams has also dropped from yesterday's ₹135,750 to ₹135,740 today.

It is evident from these figures that gold prices in Chennai are slightly higher compared to other major metropolitan cities. Meanwhile, in cities like Delhi and Jaipur, prices have remained stable at the same level. Gold prices vary across different cities primarily due to local taxes and transportation charges, with price differentials ranging from ₹10 to ₹100. There are also reports suggesting that several central banks are considering selling off their gold reserves. This raises the prospect of increased supply, which is currently exerting downward pressure on prices.
