With the release of the Bihar Board Class 10 results, the wait for lakhs of students has finally come to an end. While some students have secured excellent marks, there are many others who have received low scores or have failed in one or two subjects. In such a situation, there is no need to panic, as the Bihar Board offers students several options that can prevent them from losing an entire academic year.

Whether through the provision of grace marks or the option of compartment examinations, students can effectively utilize these alternatives to safeguard their future and continue their further studies.

Do Not Panic if You Fail or Receive Low Marks
If a student has received low marks or has failed in one or two subjects, there is no need for them to feel disheartened. The Bihar Board provides multiple opportunities for such students to ensure that they do not lose an academic year and can continue their education without interruption.

Compartment Exams Can Save Your Academic Year
If you have failed in one or two subjects, you have the option to appear for a compartment examination. This examination is typically conducted shortly after the declaration of the results. The primary advantage of this option is that you can clear the examination within the same academic year, secure admission to the next grade, and avoid wasting an entire year.

What is the Grace Marks Policy?
The Bihar Board's grace marks policy also offers a measure of relief to students. Under this policy, students who fail by a very narrow margin are granted a pass. A student may be awarded grace marks if they fall short by up to 8% in a single subject; similarly, they may be declared 'pass' if they fall short by 4% in each of two subjects. Furthermore, even if a student has secured an aggregate score of 75% but has failed in a single subject by a margin of up to 10%, they may still be given the opportunity to pass.

Other Options Are Also Available
If a student chooses not to appear for the compartment examination—or fails to clear it—they have the option to retake the examination the following year. Additionally, by focusing on and improving their preparation in their weaker subjects, they can aim to achieve better scores in their subsequent attempt.
