In this high-scoring encounter, Shardul Thakur earned the Player of the Match award for his exceptional bowling. Previously part of the Lucknow Super Giants, Thakur was traded to Mumbai Indians before the mega auction, allowing him to make his debut in the playing XI. Finn Allen scored 37 runs off 17 balls, while Rinku Singh remained unbeaten with 33 runs off 21 balls. Cameron Green added 18 runs off 10 balls.
Mumbai Indians successfully chased down the target, scoring 224 runs for the loss of four wickets in just 19.1 overs, winning the match by six wickets. Rohit Sharma played a stellar innings, scoring 78 runs off 38 balls, hitting six fours and six sixes, achieving his fastest fifty in IPL history in just 23 balls. Rickelton also made a significant contribution with 81 runs off 43 balls, including eight sixes and four fours, as they formed a formidable partnership of 148 runs for the first wicket in 11.5 overs.
