MI is being followed by CSK which has 21 wins against RCB in 35 matches, KKR also has 21 wins in 35 matches against Punjab Kings, MI has won 21 matches against CSK in 39 matches and MI also has 21 wins in 37 matches against Delhi Capitals.

Their dominance at home is even more impressive. This was the 11th win for Mumbai against KKR at Wankhede in just 13 matches, an IPL record. No other team has come close, with the next best being nine wins by teams like KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad against Punjab Kings.

Chasing a tough target of 221, Mumbai Indians reached 224/4 in just 19.1 overs. This becomes their highest successful run chase in the IPL history and ranks among the top chases in the tournament overall. For context, the highest successful chase still belongs to Punjab Kings, who chased down 262 against KKR in 2024.

This was also the sixth time MI successfully chased a 200-plus total, placing them second on the all-time list, just behind Punjab Kings. What made this victory even more special was the timing. Mumbai Indians have often been known for slow starts but this win marks the first time since 2012 that they have won their opening match of the season.

With momentum on their side, Mumbai will next face Delhi Capitals on April 4 and fans will be eager to see if this is the beginning of another dominant campaign.
