This new series of flights between India and China shows that steps are being taken towards improvement in bilateral relations at the practical level, even if challenges remain at the political level. Let us tell you that the country's largest airline company Indigo has started its daily flight service between Shanghai-Kolkata on Monday.
Consul General of India in Shanghai Prateek Mathur inaugurated the 'Indigo 6E' flight service. The Indian Embassy in Shanghai had written in a post, in the meeting with the management of IndiGo, Mathur said that this new flight service is a positive sign in increasing air connectivity and economic relations between India and the region.
Indian airline companies like Indigo and Air India have started connecting Shanghai with metros like Delhi and Kolkata. Kolkata is the second Indian metropolis after Delhi, which is connected to Shanghai. Air China is planning to start direct flights between Beijing and Delhi on April 21. At the same time, the flight between Shanghai-Kolkata will also promote development in the North-Eastern region of India.
