Instagram Plus: Meta is soon set to introduce a new subscription plan. However, this plan will offer users a host of new features that have not yet been made available to standard users.
Instagram Plus: The social media platform Meta is gearing up to implement a major change regarding its popular app, Instagram. The company is currently working on a new premium subscription model—dubbed "Instagram Plus"—that could significantly transform the user experience compared to the current standard. Reports suggest that this new plan will include features that are currently unavailable to free users.
In Which Countries Has the testing begun?
According to media reports, the trial for Instagram Plus is currently underway in a select few countries, including Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines. This means that, for now, the feature is accessible only to a limited number of users; however, it is expected to be rolled out to other countries in the near future.
What Exclusive Features Will Instagram Plus Offer?
The most talked-about feature of this paid service is "Anonymous Story Viewing." This means that if you are an Instagram Plus subscriber, you can view anyone's Story without revealing your identity. Typically, the person who posts a Story on Instagram can see exactly who has viewed it; however, with this new feature, your presence will remain hidden.
Additionally, users will be able to see how many times their Stories have been replayed. Currently, this functionality is not available to standard users. Furthermore, the service will introduce the ability to create multiple distinct audience lists for Stories—whereas currently, users are limited to creating only a single "Close Friends" list.
Instagram Plus subscribers will also be able to extend the duration of their Stories beyond the standard 24 hours. Additionally, once a week, they will have the option to "highlight" a specific Story, pinning it to the forefront of their profile to boost its visibility.
What Other New Features Will Be Included?
Along with this subscription, users will gain the ability to send animated reactions, such as "Superlikes." Furthermore, the feature will include a search function within the list of Story viewers, allowing you to easily locate a specific individual.
Is This Similar to the "Verified" Plan? It is important to understand that Instagram Plus is distinct from Meta's Verified plan. The Verified plan is designed primarily for creators and business users, offering features such as a blue tick and enhanced security. Instagram Plus, on the other hand, has been developed with the average user in mind.
What could be the price?
While the company has not yet officially disclosed the pricing, the cost varies across the countries where it is currently being tested. According to reports, this subscription could range from approximately ₹100 to ₹200 per month. It remains unclear what the price will be once it launches in India.
