
Lucknow's MP-MLA special court today (31 March) gave a big verdict in the famous 19-year-old double murder case. The court has acquitted all the accused including Gosaiganj MLA Abhay Singh. The court ruled that all the allegations made against the accused in this case were not proved. After which everyone was acquitted.
Apart from Abhay Singh, Ravindra alias Rajju, Ajay Pratap Singh alias Ajay Sipahi and Firoz Ahmed were also acquitted in this case. The court gave this decision considering the evidence and witnesses presented in this case as not sufficient. After which the court acquitted Abhay Singh and other accused of all charges. Advocate Satyendra Singh presented his case in the court on behalf of Abhay Singh. During this, Singh told that after 19 years, the court has acquitted Abhay Singh, Ravindra Singh, Ajay Pratap Singh and Firoz Ahmed in this case.
In fact, on March 31, 2007, two youths were brutally murdered in the Purvanchal tent house located in the Bazarkhala area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The deceased were Shatrughan Singh alias Chhotu and his servant Jitendra Tripathi. The allegation was that the four accused, including Abhay Singh, had entered the tent house and shot both of them dead. This matter had become a topic of discussion in the entire Purvanchal at that time. On August 13, 2008, the police filed a charge sheet against Firoz Ahmed, Ajay Sipahi, Abhay Pratap Singh and Ravindra. In this case, Abhay Singh was declared an accused under section 120B because he was in jail at that time.
After a long trial, today the judge of MP-MLA court acquitted all the accused from all sections. The court said that the prosecution could not present sufficient evidence against the accused. The court acquitted all the accused including MLA Abhay Singh due to lack of evidence.
This decision of the court has brought great relief to MLA Abhay Singh. His supporters welcomed the decision and said that truth has prevailed. Abhay Singh also called it a victory of justice. He says he was innocent. He got justice from the court after 19 years. Here the victim side has raised questions on the acquittal of the accused by the court. The lawyer of the victim's side says that he will appeal against this decision in the High Court.
