Lucknow. Untimely rains in many districts of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday have increased the concern of farmers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath immediately took cognizance of the situation and inquired about the condition of the affected farmers. He has sought a detailed report from the District Magistrates on the damage caused to crops due to rain.
The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to remain on alert mode. He clearly said that the farmers facing the weather should not face any kind of problem. Farmers' welfare is the top priority of the government and they will be provided relief under any circumstances.
CM Yogi directed that the Revenue Department, Agriculture Department and insurance companies should jointly conduct a joint survey of crop loss. The report of this survey should be sent to the government as soon as possible, so that compensation can be given to the affected farmers immediately.
The Chief Minister said that the government stands with the people of the state in every disaster. The process of giving compensation to the farmers whose crops were damaged due to the earlier rains is going on. He said that the damage caused by Wednesday's rain should also be assessed soon, so that there is no delay in getting relief to the farmers.
The Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to go to the field themselves and take stock of the situation. An accurate and realistic assessment of the damage caused to crops in the affected areas should be done, so that farmers can get appropriate assistance on time.
CM Yogi directed the Principal Secretary (Agriculture) and Relief Commissioner to maintain direct contact with the field officers. All information should be collected on time and made available to the government, so that relief work can be expedited.
The Chief Minister said that as soon as the assessment of crop loss is completed, the process of distributing compensation should be started immediately. Payment should be made in a time bound manner, so that farmers can get relief as soon as possible and their financial condition can be stabilised.
