In Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going to Rajya Sabha and for this he also resigned from the Legislative Council. But during the Rajya Sabha elections, cross voting took place in Bihar or MLAs remained absent due to which the opposition had to face a crushing defeat. Congress MLAs also did not participate in the voting and now the party is going to take action against it.
The big news from the Congress in the state politics is that the party's state Congress disciplinary committee has taken strict action against its three MLAs (Surendra Prasad Kushwaha, Manoj Biswas and Manohar Prasad Singh), who were missing at the time of voting in the Rajya Sabha elections. According to the news received, the committee has recommended action against these three to the party's high command.
The disciplinary committee of the state Congress had issued show cause notices to these three after they remained absent during voting in the Rajya Sabha elections. To which these three MLAs had given the answer on their behalf. After receiving the replies from these three, a letter has been sent to Congress National General Secretary (Organization) KC Venu Gopal and State Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru with the recommendation of action as per the party constitution.
According to the information given by the Disciplinary Committee of the State Congress, based on the answers given by these three MLAs, the party leadership will decide on action against them.
All these three MLAs were absent during the Rajya Sabha elections. Due to which Amarendra Dhari Singh, the candidate contesting from the Grand Alliance, had to face defeat. After the defeat in the Rajya Sabha elections, all three MLAs had blamed the policies of the state Congress for this.
Surendra Kushwaha is Congress MLA from Balmiki Nagar seat, Manoj Biswas from Forbesganj seat and Manohar Prasad Singh from Manihari seat. In the assembly elections held in the state last year, the Congress party had won 6 seats, out of which three went against the party line.
Efforts are being made by the ruling party to pacify the MLAs who are showing rebellious attitude. A few days ago, Surendra Kushwaha had met senior Janata Dal United (JDU) leader and state government minister Ashok Chaudhary at his residence. On the other hand, another MLA Manohar Prasad Singh was made the chairman of a committee of Bihar Assembly.
