Instagram Plus Subscription: Instagram is testing a new paid subscription feature for its users, which is being called Instagram Plus. This feature will especially focus on improving stories and giving more control to users. According to reports, many new tools can be found in it like increasing the duration of the story, viewing rewatch data and managing the audience. This step shows that Meta Platforms is now moving rapidly towards promoting paid services on its platform.
According to the report, Instagram Plus is currently in the testing stage and is being tried with limited users in some countries. Social media consultant Matt Navarra said that this feature is being tested in the Philippines at a cost of about 65 Philippine pesos i.e. about Rs 100 per month. In this, users can also get a free trial of one month, after which it will be automatically renewed. This feature can be quite similar to Snapchat's Snapchat Plus. However, the company has not yet officially shared its complete information or global launch date.
The focus of Instagram Plus is especially on strengthening the Story feature. In this, users will be able to create different audience groups and decide who sees their story. Apart from this, users will also be able to see how many times their story was re-viewed. You will also get the option to preview the story before posting it. The special thing is that users will be able to watch someone's story without being seen and by spotlighting one story every week, they will be able to reach more people. Apart from this, features like SuperLike and Super Heart can also be added, which will further increase engagement.
Instagram Plus can give users the option to keep the story live for more than 24 hours, which will be a big change from the current system. This will benefit both creators and users as their content will remain visible for a longer period of time. Apart from this, the platform is also going to make some other big changes soon. The company recently said that end to end encrypted chat support will be stopped from May 8, after which users will have to download their old messages and media. All these updates show that Instagram is working towards changing its platform in a new way and giving more control to the users.
