Visuals circulating on social media show Akshay and Dimple immersed in prayer. Speaking briefly to the media after the visit, the actor said, “It was really good… I prayed for the entire country and my family. I prayed that our country may always excel and progress.”
Dressed in a simple white kurta-pyjama, Akshay appeared calm and grounded, while Dimple Kapadia chose an elegant blush-pink saree, reflecting the spiritual tone of the visit.
During the visit, Akshay also participated in the sacred ritual of Jal Abhishek, an important offering where devotees pour water, milk, and other items over the Shivling to seek blessings, peace, and prosperity.
The temple, situated along the banks of the Shipra River, holds immense religious importance as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Known for its unique south-facing idol (Dakshinamurti form), it symbolises Shiva as the conqueror of death.

Actor Tiger Shroff was also present during the visit, with several clips showing the trio taking part in rituals inside the temple complex. These videos have rapidly gone viral, drawing attention from fans across platforms.
The Mahakaleshwar Temple is also famed for its early morning Bhasma Aarti, a deeply revered ritual performed between 3:30 am and 5:30 am, attracting thousands of devotees each year.
As anticipation builds for Bhooth Bangla, Akshay’s temple visit reflects a familiar ritual among Bollywood stars, seeking blessings before major releases. Beyond the film buzz, the visit offered a glimpse into a quieter, more reflective side of the actor, one rooted in faith and gratitude.
