Dubai: The Dubai-based Danube Group has ruled out any layoffs, with chairman Rizwan Sajan confirming that all employees will be retained and salaries will be paid on time despite ongoing economic uncertainty.
Announcing the decision in a post on Instagram on March 31, Sajan underscored the company’s commitment to its workforce, describing its more than 6,000 employees as “family”.
“In good times, everyone talks about growth. But in difficult times, your values are tested,” he said.
Highlighting the role employees have played in the company’s growth, Sajan said their trust and contributions have been central to shaping Danube Group’s success.
“Today, it’s my responsibility to stand by them,” he added, reaffirming that there will be no layoffs and that salaries will continue to be paid without delay.
The statement comes at a time when businesses across sectors are reassessing cost structures and workforce strategies in response to macroeconomic pressures and amid ongoing regional tensions.
The Dubai-based Danube Group operates across building materials, home interiors and real estate development, and is a prominent player in the region’s construction and property sectors.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company had similarly committed to retaining staff and later reversed salary cuts introduced in April and May 2020.
