New Delhi: Rumors are spreading rapidly on social media regarding the two great batsmen of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, withdrawing their retirement from Test cricket. It is being claimed in many posts that both the players have changed their decision and have sent a message to BCCI in this regard. But all these claims are completely wrong and baseless.

Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket on 12 May 2025 and Rohit Sharma on 7 May 2025. Both the players are currently looking in great form in IPL 2026. Kohli scored an unbeaten 69 in his debut match for RCB, while Rohit Sharma scored 78 for Mumbai Indians against KKR.

In the post going viral on social media, it is being claimed that both have decided to return to the Test and BCCI has also issued its official release. In some posts it was even said that Virat Kohli himself has announced his return to Test cricket.

No official statement or information has been issued by Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma or BCCI regarding withdrawal of Test retirement. All these claims are absolutely fake.

Both available in ODI

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from T20 and Test cricket, but they are available for Team India in the ODI format. Both of them played their last ODI on 18 January 2026 against New Zealand in Indore. In future also he can be seen representing India in ODI cricket.
