Meta has recently launched Ray-Ban Meta Optics Styles, taking its AI-supported smart glasses range to a new height. These smart glasses are specially designed for users who require prescription eyeglasses. These glasses include prescription support as well as useful features from Meta AI like hands-free nutrition tracking and message summaries, making them more practical for daily use.

Their price has been set at $499 (approximately ₹ 41,500). Currently, these smart glasses are only available for pre-order in the US, which can be purchased through Meta and Ray-Ban’s official channels. Their sales will start from April 14, and the company has said that they will be launched in other countries including India by the end of the year.

Nutrition Tracking: Users will be able to record their meals via voice or photo, and Meta AI will track personalized health diets by extracting essential information.
WhatsApp Summary: Hands-free WhatsApp Summary feature is also coming soon, in which users can ask Meta AI for a summary of the chat. Data will be protected with end-to-end encryption.
Neural Handwriting: Through this feature, users can write messages on surfaces with their finger, which the glasses will convert into text. It will work on apps like Instagram, WhatsApp and iMessage.
Display Recording: Display Recording will allow users to create videos by combining the visuals, real world, and audio in front of them.
Ecosystem Integration: Meta is ramping up ecosystem integration into its smart glasses, including Spotify shortcuts and on-device widgets like reminders, weather, calendar. Additionally, the navigation feature is also being rolled out in US cities, giving users turn-by-turn directions right in front of their eyes.
