This player reached court when he was not allowed to play in IPL 2026, filed a case against his own board

The player who was stopped by his cricket board in IPL 2026 has filed a case against him. We are talking about fast bowler Nuwan Thushara who has dragged the Sri Lanka Cricket Board to court. According to Sri Lankan media reports, Nuwan Thushara has filed a case against its board for not getting NOC for IPL. Nuwan Thushara had failed in the fitness test conducted by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, after which he was barred from playing in the IPL. Sri Lanka Board has made a rule that only the player who passes the fitness test will be able to play in the foreign league.

Nuwan Thushara is a part of RCB team

Nuwan Thushara is a player of RCB team. RCB bought this player last year for Rs 1.6 crore. RCB has played one match this season but Nuwan Thushara is still in Sri Lanka. Nuwan Thushara has now filed a case against the Sri Lanka Cricket Board and made a big allegation. Thushara says that his contract had ended on March 31 but the Sri Lanka Cricket Board is not giving him NOC citing fitness. Thushara said that due to this decision he is facing a loss of Rs 1.6 crore.

Nuwan Thushara will not take central contract

There are reports that Nuwan Thushara will no longer take the central contract. He has told the Sri Lankan Board that he will not accept it now. This means that Thushara is hardly seen playing in international cricket now. Thushara is an excellent bowler and has taken 36 wickets in 30 T20s for Sri Lanka. His economy rate is just 8.1 runs per over. Because of actions like Lasith Malinga, it is not so easy to score runs against him. Besides, he is also adept at swinging the ball outwards.
