Chitra Magimairaj ended a nine-year wait by winning the women’s 9-ball pool national title in Ludhiana, defeating Ishika Shah 7-4 in the final. The Bengaluru cueist staged a strong comeback after a mid-match slump to secure her fourth national crown.
Ludhiana (Punjab), April 2: Karnataka’s Chitra Magimairaj ended a nine-year title drought with a dominant display in the final of the women’s 9-ball pool Nationals at the Rotary Bhawan here on Thursday.
Chitra clinches third 9-ball title
The seasoned Chitra overcame a mid-match slump before scoring a facile 7-4 win over Madhya Pradesh’s Ishika Shah for her third 9-ball title and fourth pool National crown in all.
“It feels great to win a national title again,” said an elated Chitra, who last won in 2017. “Winning the nationals gives me the added motivation to do well at international events.”
