Whenever Arjun Tendulkar is mentioned in the world of cricket, the name of his father Sachin Tendulkar immediately comes to mind. Recently, during an interview, Arjun made it clear that he does not live under the pressure of being Sachin’s son, but plays cricket because of his passion. At the same time, when he was asked who apart from Sachin he considered his cricketing idol, his answer was quite interesting.

Let us tell you that Arjun Tendulkar is seen in the jersey of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in this IPL 2026 season. Before this, he had been a part of Mumbai Indians (MI) for three consecutive seasons, but there he got very limited opportunities to take the field. Now Arjun is looking forward to a new beginning by joining the new franchise.

Apart from Sachin, who is Arjun’s cricket idol?

In an interview on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, when Arjun Tendulkar was asked which cricketer apart from his father he considered his idol, he took the name of Yuvraj Singh without hesitation. Arjun said with a smile, ‘Obviously, because of his batting, what else!’ However, when it came to Yuvraj’s bowling, Arjun humorously clarified the difference, saying, ‘He was a spinner and I am a fast bowler.’

Arjun Tendulkar got his first chance in IPL in 2021, when Mumbai Indians included him in their team. He remained a part of Mumbai till the year 2025 but he was seen very few times in the playing-11. When asked if he felt he should have got more opportunities in Mumbai, he said honestly, ‘Who doesn’t feel that way? No player likes to sit on the bench. Everyone wants to come out on the field and perform but my job is to work hard so that when the opportunity comes, I am ready.
