Farmers are eagerly awaiting the 23rd installment of the PM Kisan scheme. Under this scheme, 22 installments have been released so far. Every year, under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, the government transfers ₹6,000 directly into farmers' bank accounts. This amount is disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, released at intervals of four months.
The 22nd installment was transferred by the Prime Minister to farmers' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) from Guwahati, Assam, in March 2026. Farmers are now awaiting the 23rd installment. The benefits of this scheme are available only to eligible farmers. Consequently, the installment for many farmers gets withheld if their documentation is incomplete. Therefore, farmers are advised to complete all necessary formalities promptly.
To receive the installments under this scheme, three conditions must be fulfilled. First, the Aadhaar card must be linked to the bank account. Second, the e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process must be completed. Third, land verification (geo-tagging/land record authentication) is also mandatory. If any one of these requirements remains unfulfilled, the installment will not be disbursed.
If your bank account is not linked to your Aadhaar card, or if any other document is incomplete, you will not receive the 23rd installment. According to media reports, the 23rd installment is expected to be released around July 2026. However, the government has not yet officially announced a specific date.
To check whether the 23rd installment has been credited to their account, farmers can easily check their status from the comfort of their homes. To do this, they must visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in. On the website, click on the 'Beneficiary List' option. Then, select your State, District, Block, and Village. Finally, click on the 'Get Report' button.
You can perform this task from home using a mobile phone or a laptop. If your name appears in the list and your status is displayed correctly, you can expect to receive the installment. However, if you notice any discrepancies or issues, you must rectify them immediately to ensure you receive the upcoming installment. The government has transferred these funds directly into the bank accounts of over 93 million farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). It is worth noting that this scheme was launched by the Prime Minister on February 24, 2019. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated this scheme from Gorakhpur.
If the next installment fails to reach the account of any eligible farmer, they may contact the scheme's helpline number. Farmers can register their grievances by calling 155261 or 011-24300606. This helpline is available from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
