Special festivals of Christianity have started in the first week of April. While Good Friday is celebrated on 3 April, the festival of Easter Sunday will be celebrated after it on 5 April. These festivals symbolize sacrifice on one hand and rebirth on the other. On the one hand, Good Friday is the day when Jesus Christ was crucified, so it is celebrated as a day of mourning and prayer rather than a celebration. On the other hand, Easter Sunday is celebrated as a festival because on this day Jesus Christ was reborn, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil.

According to religious belief, Jesus Christ was crucified so that people could return to the path of God. On Good Friday, most people go to church and pray. Now the question arises that how people of Christian religion celebrate the festival of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

How do you celebrate Good Friday?

According to the belief of Christianity, on Good Friday, Jesus Christ was crucified between 12 noon and 3 pm, during which he suffered extreme physical pain, due to which many devotees are going to pray in the church from 12 noon to 3 pm on this day.

Many people keep fast on this day and many remain engrossed in the prayers of Jesus Christ the whole day. No one says ‘Happy Good Friday’ on Good Friday because it is not a day of happiness but of mourning.

How is Easter Sunday celebrated?

While Good Friday is a festival of mourning and peace, Easter Sunday is a festival full of joy and celebration. On this day people go to church in the morning, light candles and read the Bible. Colorful eggs on Easter Sunday are considered a symbol of the rebirth of Jesus Christ. That’s why people give eggs as gifts to their friends and relatives. In the evening, many people hold parties at their homes, where all the friends and relatives come together and enjoy delicious food. On this day everyone wishes each other ‘Happy Easter’.
